Supreme · Vol. 047
A collaboration with Richard Estes: his painting Drugs (1970), a drugstore front and its reflections.
Richard Estes, born in Kewanee, Illinois, is one of the founders of Photorealism, painting New York’s streets and shop windows in exact detail.
A collaboration with Hot Wheels, with Supreme’s logos and custom number plates.
Hot Wheels are Mattel’s die-cast toy cars, launched in 1968 by Mattel’s co-founder Elliot Handler; the first sixteen drew on Southern California’s car culture.
The early cars had shiny Spectraflame paint and red-striped tyres, which gave them the name Redlines.
