Independent® Truck | Haida Work Vest

A collaboration with Independent: its classic truck, with Supreme’s art.

Independent is a skateboard truck company founded in California in 1978 by Fausto Vitello, Eric Swenson, Richard Novak and Jay Shuirman; its first truck was the Stage I.

In 1981 Vitello and Swenson started Thrasher magazine.

A collaboration with James Hart, with his Haida design printed on the vest.

James Hart was born on Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, in 1952; he is a Haida carver and holds the hereditary chief’s name 7idansuu, once carried by Charles Edenshaw.

His carved cedar screen The Dance Screen (The Scream Too) (2010–13) is at the Audain Art Museum.
